The Band
" The Verreng project " was born in 2006 by idea of the Italian guitarist and composer, Gianluca Verrengia, with the intention to covey in it all attitudes from this four elements: they all came from many experiences with the greatest figures of Italian pop music (jovanotti, ron, manuela villa, tiziano ferro and many others), italian jazz and other genres.
This quartet , thanks to the huge amount of timbres and sounds, from latin jazz to rock, to popular standard themes, improvisations, collected many different shows in jazz festivals (as Pasqua jazz 2007, Fondi and Caserta expò 2007) in small clubs, and also supported theater plays (fonderia delle arti 2006).Verrengia's compositions, as the opening track, received awards in international Festival as "San Paulo Film Festival" and "Sedici corto" (Forlì, Italy).
The first album, produced by VMUSIC, will be released in November 2008.
Gianluca Verrengia - Electric and acoustic guitars

His multi-stylistic training (classical guitar degree at 22,several workshops with world masters of jazz-rock) leads him to work in a complete and full of influences musical habitat.
He played (both studio and live)and toured with some important figures of Italian music as:Federico Salvatore, Manuela Villa, Tiziano Ferro, Articolo 31, Tormento-Sottotono, Strabba, Antonello Rondi, Paul Gazebo, Francesco Nuti, Deborah Torres Patel, Clara Galante (who performed with at “ Anna Magnani prize” in 1999 for M° Riccardo Muti ).
He published 6 guitar methods for some of the most important Italian publishers (Ed Carish- Ed Riuniti,Ed. Playgame) and two of them entered annual best selling. Since 1995 he permanently collaborates as transcriber for the magazine "Chitarre".
In the framework of music for images,in 2005 he has recognitions during "SediciCorto" film festival at Forlì with the short "Chiudi gli occhi" by Massimiliano Pontellini and at "Sau Paulo Film Festival" with the medium-length “RGB” by Brasilian award Roberto Jabor . He's one of the composers of Spekeazy, who produces with music for spots of brands as Dumex,Del Monte,All State,Honda.
Paolo Iurich - Pianos

He's one of the "enfant prodige" of roman scene in the '70,at only 18 is involved in important professional experiences.He's with Donatella Rettore in the height of her career,then with Nini Rosso during the acclaimed Japan tour.After he collaborated with Gary Low (Spain tour),Scialpi, Mimmo Locasciulli, Albano e Romina, Federico Salvatore,Paola Turci, Alessandro Safina, and many others.
From 1980 to 1990 he boasts a considerable number of recording sessions at the historic RCA and Trafalgar Studios.Since 1991 he plays in the most important RAI shows(such as "I fatti vostri", “Fantastico” , “Domenica in”) where he plays for Italian and international artists.
Keen on Cuban music,he worked with the best salsa bands in Italy and abroad,one of the most important collaborations is his appearence in 2000 during the tour of the great violinist Alfredo De la Fè.
Francesco Licciardi - Electric and Acoustic Bass

He begins his training as bass player with many cover bands,playng in clubs and Italian squares.He extended his musical studies and his technique on electric bass with important musician as :Maurizio Galli and Massimo Moriconi.
His wide preparation (he's got also a degree in French horn at the "Ottorino Respighi" Conservatory) leads him to pass the audition,with consecutive insertion in Q Daila big band(in 2000), Saint Louis big band ( 2001) directed by trumpet player Aldo Bassi and in Corvini Jazz Studio big band ( 2003-2004).Also important his meeting with Claudio Corvini , Giancarlo Ciminelli , Mario Corvini , Sergio Vitale, Enzo De Rosa , Fredi Malfi, Lina Senese (2003/04/05),in 2001-2002 with master Roberto Pregadio,and with the singer Tiziana Rivale.At the moment he works with the well-known jazz saxophonist Paolo Recchia.
Daniele Iacono - Drum and Percussions

He's graduated in classical percussions at S.Cecilia Conservatory,and he has improved his study at the prestigious "Drum Collective" in New York,where he had the chance to compare himself with some of the greatest American drummers.
He collaborated in studio and live with:Jovanotti(on the album"Una tribù che balla" , "Lorenzo 1992" and respective tours),Niccolò Fabi (supporting Sting's Italian tour )Ron,Federico Salvatore,Tiromancino,Andrea Ra, Paola Turci, Max Gazzè, Daniele Groff.
He appeares also in many ( musical and live) videos with Jovanotti, Ron, Federico Salvatore and Niccolò Fabi.
n 1994 he win the award "Nastro d'Argento" for the music of "Vagabunda" by the mexican director Armando Rosas Priego.During his permanence in New York he palyed and also recorded with Matthew Garrison, Larry Porter on the album of the singer Kisia Bostic.
Since 1994 he's endorser for Aramini Strumenti Musicali,Ufip and FBT taking part to some of the most important national fairs.
Since 2005 he has a teaching page on the monthly "Drum Club".
