Once we understand this point, it's easier understand how getting more guitars, more amps and more effects, is necessary to cover the many different music styles and genres.
Unavoidably, tone searching is a lifetime evolution, but I have created, over time, due to very different music styles I've worked on, some basic, firm points in the construction of the "MY SOUND".
The choice of guitars, stomp boxes and FX is so instinctive, so personal, it must come from and be dictated by our particular taste and the pleasure be derived from listening to it. It should not (only) be just is played by one of our idols.
